November PCal
Since the discoveries made on Halloween, the Biblioplex has been closed and classes have been canceled. Prismari and Silverquill students were also temporarily relocated to staff housing in the Central Campus. On Monday morning, it is announced that classes will resume on Tuesday and everyone is free to return to their regular dormitories.
In the evening, the Deans hold a University-wide meeting to be attended by all staff and students. After a week of investigation, they’re finally ready to admit they’ve come up empty in their search for information on what they’re calling void rifts and the associated creatures, voidlings. Additionally, Dean Lisette says that she’s consulted the founding dragons, who also have never heard of such creatures or phenomena before. Dean Lu gives an eloquent speech about not fearing the unknown, and ultimately concludes that unless the situation escalates, the Deans have decided to resume operating as usual.
Investigating the void rifts previously located on Prismari and Silverquill campuses reveals that they have been boarded up by rudimentary wooden structures reinforced by magic. These structures are difficult but not impossible to breach, although Dean Ibraham warns students that they have been put in place for safety reasons and it is best to leave them untouched.
The portable void rift in the Anger twins’ bag has been confiscated by the Deans.

MONDAY
Meanwhile, everything seems normal in Silverquill’s Athenaeum, although the place has been overrun by books in the students’ absence. Farrow Strangewayes enlists help from freshmen of all colleges to clear the unruly tomes out of the house.

WEDNESDAY
The weather has the upperclassmen buzzing about an event known as the annual Snow War. This multi-day snowball fight is not scheduled to begin until midterms end in December, but organizing factions is a weeks-long process heavy on politicking and strategy.
- Melwythorne, captain of last year’s winning faction, approaches [Volunteer A] and asks if they’ll be part of his faction – a huge honor, as freshmen usually need to prove their mettle before being invited to a faction.
- Meanwhile, [Volunteer B] decides to take matters into their own hands and organizes their own faction, successfully recruiting Rowan Kenrith, Rampart Soojiiv, and Zanther Bowen by the end of the day.
π°Rumor has it that Felisa Fang won’t be participating this year, and that she went on a fifteen minute rant to her close friends about how childish the Snow War is – out of jealousy for not having been invited to a faction yet.

THURSDAY
Tonight is the first performance of the Playactors Drama Guild’s winter production.
- Penned by Silverquill professor Brenneth Blackstone, this new play is expected to become a classic. Many of her other works are world-renown in Faerûn, and club leadership has impressed the importance of putting on a good show. Unfortunately, the play is dense and Shakespearean in nature, detailing a long-past political conflict from Eldrainian history, and it is very difficult to follow.
- Although freshmen weren’t eligible for speaking roles in this production, Hecate Hexslinger makes their Strixhaven stage debut as Castle Guard #2.
- During the curtain call, Quentillius Melentor is hit in the face by a rotten head of cabbage lobbed at him from the audience. [Volunteer D] happened to see the source of the soggy vegetable – Rosie Wuzfeddlims and Greta Gorunn, who seem to have gotten away with the act.
- After the play ends, [Volunteer E] encounters Quentillius outside the back doors of the Rose Stage building. He seems to be in a particularly emotionally vulnerable state, and takes whatever advice (or criticism) they give him to heart. (Dropbox or DM me with your character’s reaction to this event to impact Quentillius’s character development!)
π°Rumor has it that Ravnican talent scout Bess Writingham will be in attendance tomorrow night. Good thing everyone got some practice tonight!
12
SATURDAY
- Quentillius does not show up today to perform his lead role, leaving his understudy Mina Lee to take over. The part requires a stage kiss with Rubina Larkingdale’s character. [Volunteer F] saw both performances, and thinks tonight’s kiss was a lot more… passionate than last night’s. Interesting!

FRIDAY
π°Rumor has it that mild-mannered Giada is not attending this excursion because she’s wanted for three felonies on the plane of New Capenna.
19
SATURDAY
π¦Back at Strixhaven, anyone who stayed behind is treated to a rare lightshow as an artificial Aurora Borealis illuminates the night sky over all campuses. [Volunteer H] is admiring the phenomenon when they overhear Dean Tullus comment to another professor that this usually means the founder dragons are bickering.
20
SUNDAY
πIt’s Dead Week. Midterms begin on Monday the 28th, and classes this week are focused on review and quiet study. Attending class this week is optional, but encouraged.
21
MONDAY
π While studying for their exams,[Volunteer I] comes across some information that seems like it could be a lead on what the void rifts or voidlings are. (If you take this volunteer spot, dropbox or DM me for further details about what your character has learned about your chosen topic.)
22
TUESDAY
π¦As snow becomes more common, the difference in climates between the college campuses becomes clear. Lorehold’s campus retains its arid, hot weather no matter how wintery the rest of the campuses become, while Witherbloom’s campus faces a severe hail storm this afternoon.
23
WEDNESDAY
π°Rumor has it that roommates Tilana Kapule and Larina Arneza had a huge argument last night and are not speaking to one another.
24
THURSDAY
Food and drinks are half off at Bow’s End Tavern tonight, a regular tradition the Friday before exam week on campus.
- [Volunteer J] decides to shoot their shot with [Student NPC of choice] and ends up getting a couple sloppy kisses in a supply closet.
- [Volunteer K] has a little too much to drink, and ends up being kicked out of the tavern well before closing. Time to find an afterparty!
- Bow’s End Employees and Silkball players are invited to stay after closing for a home-cooked holiday meal made by Javenesh Stoutclaw. In his home realm of Ravnica, tonight is a holiday that traditionally celebrates platonic love and appreciation, and he’s happy to spend it with his friends and coworkers. Some of the traditional Owlin foods he prepares are a little strange, but adventurous eaters will enjoy the meal.
25
FRIDAY
π°Rumor has it that Cadoras Damellawar has been rehearsing a one-man show which is a parody of Brenneth Blackstone’s latest play.
26
SATURDAY
πMidterms Begin. Exam week will last until December 2nd. Although some majors are more academically rigorous than others, all Strixhaven students are busy with exams, essays, and final projects this week, leaving very little time for socializing or club activities.
28
MONDAY
π°Rumor has it that Aurora Wynterstarr failed her biophilosophy exam and has been put on academic probation for the spring semester.
29
TUESDAY
All Quandrix exams which were scheduled to take place at the main building on campus, Torus Hall, have been canceled or postponed, and the building has been cordoned off to all students. At dinner, Dean Ibraham announces that a large void rift has been found in the building, which is famed for its non-Euclidean geometry and impossible architecture, and some concerns about the structural safety of the building have been raised.
